SAVE THE DATE: The Ethical and Effective Practitioner: Lessons for Private Practice
Friday March 31, 2017 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Federal Way, WA
Please join Give an Hour and United Health Foundation for a day of training on how to ethically and effectively operate your private practice. This conference is ideal for mental health providers who would like to open or grow a trauma-informed private practice, and anyone who is overwhelmed by ever-changing digital ethics. This complementary training is limited to mental health providers and graduate students, and includes CEUs*, breakfast, and lunch. A detailed invitation will be sent out in January.
*Give an Hour is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Give an Hour maintains responsibility for this program and its content. *This activity is pending approval from the National Association of Social Workers.
Give an Hour™ is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), founded in September 2005 by Dr. Barbara Van Dahlen, a psychologist in the Washington, D.C., area. The organization’s mission is to develop national networks of volunteers capable of responding to both acute and chronic conditions that arise within our society.
Currently, GAH is dedicated to meeting the mental health needs of the troops and families affected by their time of service. We provide counseling to individuals, couples and families, and children and adolescents--to anyone affected by a loved one's service.
In addition to direct counseling services, our providers are working to reduce the stigma associated with mental health by participating in and leading education, training, and outreach efforts in schools and communities and around military bases.
