WWP serves service members who have incurred a service-connected wound, injury, or illness of the mind, body, or spirit on or after September 11, 2001. WWP provides 18 programs including Project Odyssey™ Retreats. Using an adventure learning program model, these retreats help Wounded Warriors reach the following goals:
Give an Hour providers participate in this exciting collaborative venture in two ways:
If you have experience working with military and veteran populations, are in good physical condition, have provided trauma treatment, and have a thorough understanding of military culture and its impact on warriors and/or families, please contact Erin Timmermans, GAH Program Specialist, at firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about opportunities to get involved in the future.
If you are interested in donating one hour per week of mental health support or treatment to a service member, veteran or their loved ones, please register to become a Give an Hour volunteer provider on giveanhour.org.
At an average rate of $100/hour, Give an Hour providers donated over $11,700 in counseling services via WWP referrals within the past year.
